The evidence of only
one instance of effort,
split mountainsides
yielded too many
kernels for our
mendicant followers.
Neglect or deliberate
deluge? No windfall,
clearly, though moving
air may be one culprit.
We were only trying
to survive, once.
Suddenly, storms of corn,
floods of dire
nourishment.
